Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. We already have an IT Director. So why would I need an outside
firm?
A. To fill in the gaps. Certainly your IT people will identify
technology issues that are problematic to operation and growth
of your organization. But, while they serve critical needs, they
likely won't have the programming and integration expertise needed
to fix those problems. Few organizations can afford full-time
custom programmers. And, even if they do have the required skills
for the project, organizations are running so lean these days
that most internal IT departments have no more capacity.
Q. When we need to augment our capabilities, we call in a freelancer.
We can usually get one at a fairly inexpensive price, too. Why
should I call RosTech instead?
A. For several reasons. While your freelancer may be great as
a fill-in for MIS people on vacation or to help out with basic
network management needs, he or she probably doesn't have the
broad range of technical skills to really maximize the performance
of your critical business systems. And, technical emergencies
happen. If they happen when that one person who has key knowledge
of your systems goes on vacation, you've got a problem. With RosTech,
we'll immediately send a consultant with the skills necessary
to fix the problem, regardless of when you call.
Q. We use a large consulting firm for our IT planning and outsourcing.
I would imagine their capabilities are more inclusive - and better
- than RosTech's. Why would I use your services?
A. Organization's have unique needs and should obviously do what's
right for them. But, often times, they find that large consulting
firms put layers of consultants on projects - some of which seem
unnecessary. Those larger firms often take longer than RosTech
to get a job done. They're certainly more expensive than RosTech.
And, if a project requires expertise they don't have - say experience
on an older legacy system - they'll say they have it and then
farm out the work to a freelancer or much smaller firm.
Q. Right now, we have no problems at all. We shouldn't see you
when everything's OK, right?
A. Wrong. When technical emergencies hit, you're in a hurry.
The last thing you have time to do is source and interview vendors
and then cross your fingers that you've picked the right one.
Get to know us now. Let us further acquaint you with our services
and flexible structure. Then, we'll be here when you need someone
to quickly jump on that next emergency, or that next strategic
software initiative.
