Our clients rely on RosTech for a wide variety of software-related
needs. Why do they continue to call us for years rather than one
of the many big firms with big brand names? Because we roll up
our sleeves and get productive quickly. No meaningless meetings
where we spout off technical jargon to sell more than you need.
No presentations where we show off fancy charts and graphs that
took hours to create. No layers of consultants dancing in circles
and pointing fingers at each other as they figure out how to approach
your problem. Just experienced and practical consultants who tell
it like it is, and then get the job done quickly and cost effectively.

TYPES OF SYSTEMS
AND APPLICATIONS:
RosTech has developed and implemented a wide variety of systems
and applications. Because we work with our customers for years and
handle a variety of needs, it's impossible to capture everything
we do for them here. But, we've summarized some of our customer
projects below to give you a general understanding of our experience
and capabilities.
A water and wastewater management firm in Marlton, N.J.: With
1,500 associates in five regional offices, this customer provides
services to millions of citizens from over 1,000 large and small
facilities. RosTech currently supports water and sewage billing,
service order, payroll, inventory, and financial reporting software
applications for nine water authorities throughout Pennsylvania,
Massachusetts, and New Jersey managed by this customer. This includes
a help desk operation to cover day-to-day operations support and
on-going enhancements to the software as requested by users.
A water authority in upstate New York: This customer provides
water services to an upstate-New York city of almost one million
citizens. RosTech performed system requirements analysis, software
vendor analysis and selection, and implementation of OASIS, a WINDOWS-based
system, on an SQL server. We also identified, assessed, and selected
local vendors for a variety of important outsourced services, including
a hosting company for dedicated and secure server access as well
as related operation and management services, a printer, and a mail
house. In addition, we consistently help users get comfortable with
system changes as they're implemented.
A field services firm for the mortgage industry located in Sterling,
VA: This customer is the largest provider of property preservation,
asset and collateral inspections, and field services in the mortgage
banking industry. The company maintains long-standing relationships
with approximately 3,000 independent contractors who perform property
inspection and preservation services nationwide. For years, RosTech
has provided ongoing development support to enable user-friendly
capabilities such as real-time monitoring of managed inspections,
online connectivity from service providers' desktops, and a web-integrated
client services system with features such as online order entry,
history review, and photographs. In addition, when the customer
was acquired in 2001, we migrated the new parent company's data
into these high-performance systems.
A designer and manufacturer of irrigation products in Huntsville,
Alabama: This customer has decades of experience serving the
agricultural-related needs of growers throughout the world. After
performing a systems requirements analysis, RosTech developed an
innovative web site that serves as an easy-to-use portal for sales
people and customers alike, providing a centralized view of product
and order information and enabling online orders. And, in another
project, we helped the customer select off-the-shelf production,
inventory, and sales software after conducting a thorough evaluation
of the options.
An educational association in Washington, D.C.: Founded
in 1922, this large association has chapters in the United States,
Canada, Australia, and Greece. We provide support for an MS Access-based
association management system on an NT network. Modules in use include:
membership management, chapter dues billing and payment tracking.
The system also included an interface with vendor partners for promotional
contacts as well as meeting promotion and management, including
on-site registration and fee processing.
A private investment management firm in The Plains, Virginia:
This customer manages private assets of over $200 million. RosTech
performed the analysis, design, programming, documentation, and
user training for a "task tracking system" in MS Access.
This multi-user system tracks the to-do list of each user and enables
them to enter and select tasks in a variety of ways as well as update,
close, and sort tasks. It also generates and prints detailed user
and summarized management reports. RosTech designed the system so
that the customer could perform much of the minor maintenance themselves.
A prominent real estate developer in the Washington, D.C. area:

to a DELTEK system. And, we implemented change management services

software (PMAS). We also provided JD Edwards version upgrade support
and Y2K compliance programming support.
A homeowner association management firm in Washington, D.C.:

7,500 units. As their ongoing software partner, RosTech has handled
many projects over the years, including the implementation of MICR
check printing and bar code scanning of cash receipts for the home
owner association management system. We also developed a financial
report package generator to produce hundreds of collated reports
for distribution to the homeowner associations. And, we streamlined
processes to more efficiently process volumes of transactions in
order to reduce management's cost per unit. As needed, we work with
users to maximize their comfort levels on new systems and programs.
An international union located in Washington, D.C.: With
more than 140,000 members, this customer is one of the fastest-growing
labor unions in the U.S. RosTech provided financial and payroll
system requirements analysis, software selection, and implementation
of ASSIST and HARRIS DATA software packages on an AS/400, along
with COGNOS for report development and EZPRINT for forms development.
The implementation required development of programs to interface
payroll, general ledger, and accounts payable with a number of other
systems. We followed this with a program to build user acceptance
and proficiency.
A national union headquartered in Washington, D.C.: This
progressive labor union represents more than 50,000 government employees
across the country. RosTech helped them establish an in-house IT
infrastructure and staff. Our many tasks on this complex project
included leading meetings and negotiations with software vendors
on contract and delivery issues, quickly correcting a major program
error in a vendor-provided package, and assisting with the implementation
of the new infrastructure and systems.
A water authority in Western Pennsylvania: With 112,000
accounts, this customer provides 17 billion gallons of potable water
to more than 350,000 residents in five counties of Southwestern
Pennsylvania. RosTech developed a master plan to prepare them for
Y2K, which included a hardware upgrade path from the Sys/36 to the
AS/400 and replacement of obsolete home-grown software with state-of-the
art software packages from ASSIST and OPTIMUM SOLUTIONS. In addition,
RosTech designed new utility billing, collections, accounts receivable,
and customer service systems. To ensure maximum user efficiency
on the new systems, we worked with them until they were completely
adept with the new technologies.
A large association in Washington, D.C.: This association
provides its 150 member associations with a variety of valuable
services. RosTech provided modifications and support for a custom-written
association management system on an IBM Sys/36. Modules in use include:
membership management, dues billing and payment tracking, sales
lead tracking, member and prospect contact management, order entry
and fulfillment, member survey processing, and an interface with
word processing, broadcast fax, and e-mail systems. We also migrated
all modules to an SQL-based system on an NT network and took critical
steps to ensure users were on board.
A financial products retailer in the Washington D.C. area:
Founded almost 40 years ago, this customer sells an online bill-paying
service as well as money orders, pre-paid items, gift certificates,
and other financial products. For more than a dozen years, RosTech
has provided a variety of services to this fast-growing company,
including on-site and on-line development and maintenance services
for its supplies/ordering/usage system.

cost and purchasing modules to interface with packaged manufacturing,
and production applications. We also assisted with the selection
of new software to replace MAPICS as well as installed and implemented
Harris Data general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll software
on an AS/400. And, we migrated custom job cost and purchasing software

with job cost and purchasing systems. Each implementation encompassed
user familiarization and training.
A national commercial real estate sales and property management
firm: This full-service real estate services firm employs
1,100 people in 21 cities. Among our many projects for them, RosTech

system during migration to JD Edwards on an AS/400. We also provided
PC network systems support and training.

this customer helps place almost 5,000 seasonal workers annually
in the United States. Over the past 15 years, our many custom system
design projects for this customer include RPG development of a migrant
worker tracking and health claims processing system on an AS/400.
We also provided report development via AS/400 data transfer to
MONARCH. As with many other projects for this customer, our numerous
consulting services on their sophisticated document scanning, storage
and retrieval system also encompassed systems requirements analysis,
vendor review and selection, and change management.
An insurance company near Philadelphia, PA: This customer
is a large provider of fire and casualty insurance. When it acquired
another insurance company's policies, we developed and implemented
a large-scale data migration program. Subsequently, we helped the
customer migrate everything to a commercial software package to
Genius, an off-the-shelf package. Among many other things, that
included development of rules for extracting data samples and reasonable
guidelines for validating data as well as the actual verifications
and conversion. We also provided services to build and enhance users'
acceptance of the system.
